unc chapel hill engagement session ~ thelsa and phil

Engagements

Last Saturday, I met up with Thelsa and Phil at Top of the Hill in downtown Chapel Hill for their engagement session. We had a couple of drinks and a chat, before heading off to the UNC campus for pictures around the gorgeous campus grounds there. We went for a relaxed stroll and took some shots by the Old Well and around Coker Aboretum. Both Thelsa and Phil have ties to the school, so it was the ideal location for their shoot.

It was a really lovely day so we had a brilliant time making the most of the beautiful light in the late afternoon. Thelsa and Phil are a fantastic couple with a great sense of humour and I’m really looking forward to their wedding in June. With such an international flavor, it’s going to be a joy to shoot.

Anyway, back to the engagement photography; these are a few of my favorites from the shoot:

Geek info: Canon EOS 5D Mark III with EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM, EF 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS USM and EF 135mm f/2 L USM, and Canon EOS 5D Mark II with EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II USM

Spread the love:

downtown raleigh engagement session – vanessa & jimmy
Dear Internets,The Raleigh wedding photography season is in full swing and that means lots of great engagement sessions to post! Vanessa and Jimmy's took place a couple of weeks back. We met up for a frosty beer (or three) at The Hive bar over the Busy Bee Café in downtown Raleigh. This was the spot the happy couple met at last year, which was great news for me as it has some pretty amazing light to work with as well as some pretty tasty beer!Once we had broken the ice, we headed out for a walk around downtown Raleigh. Vanessa and Jimmy will be getting hitched next month at Sacred Heart Cathedral, just around the corner from the Capit ...

duke chapel engagement session – naomi & matt
A couple of weekends back, I met up with Naomi and Matt for an early morning cup of coffee and an engagement session in the grounds around Duke Chapel. The sun shone, the birds sang and good times were had by all involved. Seriously, we had a laugh and made the most of the gorgeous light to get some great shots. It was great fun!Unfortunately, I was booked for Naomi and Matt's wedding, so I won't be with them for their big day in September. I was pleased we got the time to hang out and make pictures together though. Love and best wishes to them both as they start their new journey together. Here are a few fave photographs from our Duke ...
