Some weddings are grand celebrations with hundreds of guests, and others—like Erin & Andrew’s—are perfectly intimate, focusing on nothing but the love between two people. On a quiet stretch of Topsail Beach, NC, the only people present were Erin and Andrew, their parents, and Erin’s close friend who officiated the ceremony. It was just us, the waves, the golden light, and a whole lot of love.
The ceremony itself was short, sweet, and deeply personal—no frills, just heartfelt vows and happy tears. The sound of the ocean was our soundtrack, and the late summer breeze felt like nature’s own blessing. In recent years, the midweek micro-wedding and elopement have become a cherished trend—one of the few silver linings to come out of the pandemic—and this day was a perfect example of why they’re here to stay.
After they said “I do,” we had the entire beach as our canvas for portraits. Andrew looked incredibly sharp in his army dress uniform, while Erin’s wedding gown flowed beautifully in the sea breeze. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and the joy in their smiles made every frame sing.
As the sun began to dip, painting the sky in warm golden tones, we captured them walking along the shore, hand in hand. And, in the best possible ending to the day, the newlyweds kicked off their shoes and waded into the sea together—completely lost in the moment.
It was the kind of wedding that reminds you what it’s all about: two people, madly in love, ready to take on the world together. Erin & Andrew’s day was pure magic from start to finish, and I’m so grateful I got to witness and photograph it.
