Courthouse Vows, Motorbike Ride, and Full Moon Magic — Lauryn & CJ
Some wedding days are grand and elaborate. Others are beautifully simple, intimate, and focused entirely on the couple and what matters most.
Lauryn & CJ chose the latter.
They exchanged vows at the courthouse earlier in the day, keeping things relaxed, meaningful, and true to themselves. No fuss. No audience. Just love, commitment, and the quiet excitement of starting their lives together.
Later that evening, I met them at Lake Raleigh for a laid-back portrait session to celebrate the moment and make some images they’ll treasure for years to come.
A Quiet Evening to Celebrate
I always love portrait sessions like this — no timeline pressure, no distractions, just the two of them taking a breath, soaking it all in, and enjoying each other’s company.
We wandered, talked, laughed, and simply made space for them to be together. That’s where the magic lives.
“We Have to Get Photos on the Bike!”
Before the session, Lauryn told me she had one major request:
pictures of the two of them on their motorbike. ??
And honestly, I was thrilled. Any time a couple brings part of their real life — something personal, something they love — the photos take on a whole new level of meaning.

Full Moon Romance ??
As if the day weren’t special enough, the universe threw in a full moon for good measure.
Lauryn really wanted to incorporate it into a shot, and I’m so glad she mentioned it — we leaned into the mood, the glow, and the quiet romance of the evening. The result feels cinematic and timeless.
Little details like that — the unplanned magic — make days like this unforgettable.

Why I Love Intimate Days Like This
Big weddings are brilliant. I adore them.
But small celebrations like this remind me of something important:
Weddings don’t need to look one particular way.
They just need to feel like you.
Whether you’re getting married at a grand venue or saying “I do” at the courthouse and hopping on a motorbike afterward — what matters is the story, the emotion, and the connection between you both.
And if that’s the kind of story you want captured, I’d be honoured to help.
