My approach is rooted in documentary storytelling, balanced with natural, artistic portraiture. I stay close to what’s happening, anticipate the moments that matter & step in calmly when family photographs or portraits need a little guidance. The result is a gallery that feels authentic to your day while making the most of Raleigh’s beautiful venues, architecture & light.
Having photographed more than 300 weddings since 2008, I’ve learned that every celebration has its own rhythm. My job is to adapt to it, helping everything feel relaxed, effortless & unmistakably yours.

Raleigh weddings often move quickly. A downtown celebration may begin in a hotel, continue at a church, include portraits in a nearby park and finish with an evening reception. At venues such as The Umstead or Wakefield Barn, everything may happen in one place. My approach is the same either way: guide the parts of the day that need direction so the rest can unfold naturally.
During preparations and the ceremony, I’m watching for the conversations, reactions and fleeting moments that disappear as soon as people become aware of the camera. There isn’t a right amount of time for portraits—only the amount that’s right for you. Some couples want just a handful of natural photographs before getting back to the party. Others love the creative process and want to spend more time creating something truly special. Some prefer plenty of guidance, while others hardly need any at all. My job is to understand what matters to you, shape that part of the day around your priorities and create the photographs you’ve imagined—without ever losing sight of what your wedding day is really about.

A realistic Raleigh timeline protects the good bits
Local experience is most useful when it keeps a good plan from becoming a rushed one. Summer heat can make a long outdoor portrait session uncomfortable, so a little flexibility and a few minutes of beautiful evening light planned ahead of time often work better.
Before the wedding, I’ll coordinate with you and your planner and, if I’m photographing somewhere new, visit the venue in advance. Together we’ll build a realistic timeline that allows plenty of time for the moments that matter most, from family photographs to relaxed portraits, while still leaving you free to enjoy your day.
The goal isn’t to control your wedding. It’s simply to offer guidance where it’s helpful, so you can relax, stay present and celebrate with the people you love.

Once you book, we’ll shape the photography around what’s most important to you. We’ll talk through the timeline, family photographs, meaningful details, cultural or religious traditions and the kind of portraits you’d love to create. I’ll happily offer advice where it’s helpful, but the day should always feel like yours.
On the wedding day, I work unobtrusively alongside an experienced second photographer so we can tell the story from different perspectives without the photography ever taking over. Most of the time you’ll barely notice we’re there. When a little direction helps, I’ll keep it relaxed, efficient and natural.
Afterwards, every selected image is individually hand-finished and delivered in a private online gallery, ready to download, share and print. Beautiful albums and hybrid film coverage are available if you’d like something a little more tangible.
A smaller wedding can still feel like a complete occasion
An intimate wedding gives you the freedom to build the day around the people and places that matter most. That might mean vows in a garden, at home, in a favourite Raleigh restaurant or somewhere completely different, followed by relaxed portraits and time to celebrate with the people closest to you.
Rather than squeezing a traditional wedding into fewer hours, we’ll shape the photography around the celebration you’re actually planning. Whether you want a handful of natural portraits or time to create something more artistic, I’ll help you find the right balance while keeping the day relaxed, enjoyable and unmistakably yours.

Raleigh wedding photography collections begin at $4,995, and most couples invest between $7,000 and $8,000. Coverage includes me as lead photographer, a second photographer, carefully hand-finished images, a private online gallery and high-resolution digital files with personal printing rights.
Every wedding is different, so collections can be tailored around the scale, locations and timeline of your celebration rather than fitting every couple into the same package.
