November has been a gloriously warm month and we started it off in style with Martie and John’s wedding at the Brier Creek Country Club. The day began with Martie and her entourage getting ready at the Marriott RTP and, from there, we headed over to the country club which provided a gorgeous venue for the rest of the day.

Despite a slight chill, we were treated to a lovely sunny day which really brought out the golden hues of the fall and provided some great directional light for the formals and photos of the couple.

With regard to the day itself, everything was put together fantastically and ran smoothly thanks to Sharon and the team from Orangerie Events. When it came to the reception, Randy Bennett of Joe Bunn DJ Company span some really great tunes that got the crowd on their feet till the very end.

All in all it was a great occasion for all involved. Here are just a few of my favourite images taken offer the course of the day.

Martie’s friends should also be sure to check out her bridal session photos here…

One of my favourite wedding photographs from last season is this image from Lisa and Mark's Raleigh wedding last September. Lisa and Mark were a really lovely couple to work with as they were really into just letting me do my thing and not really at all concerned with stopping to get staged photographs of the bridal party together. Instead, they just let the day happen and the images simply document the story of their day. One of the unique things about their wedding day was that the bride was in one hotel room getting hair and make-up done with her girls whilst in the room right next door, the boys were chilling out watching a game of fo ...

One great thing about the lull before wedding season kicks off in earnest here in the next few weeks is the opportunity it provides me to go back and review my images from the past year. In this case, I was looking for an image to enter into the quarterly photo competition with the Wedding Photographic Society. The theme in question was Transportation, and I was immediately reminded of this image I took last October at the Greystone Inn in Durham. In it, we can see the bride arriving at the reception in a 1928 Essex Super Six Coach (provided by the good people at Classy Transportation). It was a pretty difficult shot to pull off technical ...
