The 2014 wedding season is shaping up to be brilliant and it couldn’t have started any better than with Tara and Seth’s nuptials at Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh last month. It seemed like an age since I shot their engagement session in late 2012, so it was great to meet up with them again and for their wedding day no less! It was like meeting up with old mates and I had a great time watching the day unfold. It really was a pleasure to document!

Tara and Seth obviously did a lot of research to select some of the best wedding professionals in the area, which certainly made my job as a Raleigh wedding photographer easier. Special thanks to all those listed above for knocking it out of the park and making the whole day fun to be a part of and shoot. Having such a lovely couple to work with is one thing, but having a great venue with beautiful decorations and florals, amazing hair and make-up and a kicking party to shoot definitely keeps things interesting! I am really grateful to everyone involved!

Anyway, I’ll keep this brief as there are a lot of great wedding photographs to look at. Enjoy and don’t forget to leave some love for the happy couple!

Congrats again to Tara and Seth and best of luck to them both in their new life together!

Cheers,

Joe

OK, so the "Image of the Week" thing got a bit beyond me in 2012. I will endeavour to do better in 2013! I know I get a lot of feedback from people when I post these, so thanks to everyone for their comments. I'm glad people other than myself get something out of it! Not your typical wedding photograph this, but one that jumped out at me when editing a recent wedding and which appeals to me specifically because it is a bit different. Sometimes, I feel that as wedding photographers, we run the risk of getting stuck in a rut of trotting out of the same cookie-cutter images time and time again. It's a fine line we walk between pleasing our cl ...

The first dance between a man and wife is a very touching moment indeed to document. It is a time of intense intimacy played out in a public setting, which always evokes a lot of emotion between the newlyweds. It is at times like these that the style of the photographer comes to the forefront and dictates a lot about how the bride and groom (and their guests) will remember their wedding day. Some photographers choose to get very close to the bride and groom with on-camera flash going off every few seconds even going so far as to stop the dance to have the bride and groom stop to look down the lens with a cheesy grin - I have seen this happen ...
