raleigh engagement photography – kelly & cameron

Engagements

I’ve been a bit sporadic with my updates recently; it’s been a crazy autumn and things are only just starting to slow down for me. Anyway, I plan to catch up over the next few weeks, so we’re all good!

To get things back on track, what better way than this recent Raleigh engagement photography session? I had no idea there were so many cotton fields around these parts! I guess I need to get out more. If this shoot is anything to go by, I definitely will be going back!

Big thanks to Kelly and Cameron for being such fab people for suggesting the location and allowing me to change the date to avoid the rain and catch the best light. Looking forward to their big day in the spring!

Here are a few of my faves from the sesh.

duke gardens engagement session – abby & chad
I met up with Abby & Chad on a chilly, cloudy Sunday for a beer and a chat at James Joyce's in downtown Durham, followed by a fun walk around Duke Gardens for their engagement photography session. Cloudy days bring a certain mood and the light was beautifully soft that afternoon. Abby & Chad went with two very contrasting looks for their session. Here are just a few of my faves from our time together. Luckily, the rain held off right till the very end...

duke university engagement photography session – jordan & matt
Early on Christmas Eve, I met up with Jordan and Matt for coffee and a chat before heading out into the cold, sunny winter air for some Duke University engagement photography shenanigans around the Duke campus. Despite the frosty temperatures, it was a lovely day for shooting. The grounds were deserted and the light was gorgeous, so we took our time to explore and find some places to have fun, experiment and get some cool shots. Jordan and Matt were a fab couple to hang out with and I am really looking forward to their Duke Chapel wedding later in the summer! Here are my picks of the pics.

downtown raleigh engagement session ~ lisa and mark
A week or so ago, I spent a couple of hours on a Saturday evening hanging out with Lisa and Mark in downtown Raleigh for their engagement session. We had a couple of drinks in The Oxford (I need to keep it real and English) to catch up and loosen up a little before heading out for a walk around Fayetteville Street. It really is a great area with a lot of unique nooks and crannies to take pictures in, as well as the lovely State Capitol building, which provided the backdrop to some of our images. After a pretty crappy day of rain and thunder, we were treated to a lovely spring evening of sunshine. That, combined with Lisa and Mark's chemis ...
