Huge congratulations to Nicole and Brendan, who were married in a beautiful and intimate ceremony at The Oaks at Salem earlier this month. It was a hot and humid day, but we got some cool images!

Thanks to the happy couple for having me along for the day – you guys were great! April and Joslin and all the fab people listed above, thanks for putting on such a great event!

Here are just a few of my favorites from the day…

This is a favourite moment of mine from a recent wedding. Watching the interaction between a father and son on a wedding day is something that never fails to move me. Having grown up without having my dad around, these are just some of the special moments that I like to watch unfold and capture for the groom and his family. In it, we can see the bride arriving at the reception in a 1928 Essex Super Six Coach (provided by the good people at Classy Transportation). It was a pretty difficult shot to pull off technical ...

This week's image is an example of what can be done in 5 minutes when you've taken the time to scout out the location in advance. In this case, we had just a few minutes after the November ceremony at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Raleigh to take some quick pictures of the bride and groom. I'd taken the time to head out the day before to check out the lighting at that time and had noticed that there was an area across the road from the church that would provide a nice backdrop of autumn colours and light at that time of day. We would have been quite limited in terms of our options for wedding photography had we stayed in the immediat ...
