Hey everyone! Greetings from Panama! Yes, I'm actually taking a second out from my family vacation visiting with my wife Cristel's folks to put the finishing touches to this blog post for Sarah & Case's Duke University wedding photography. So, I'll keep this short and sweet.
Sarah & Case actually got married during the pandemic with an intimate backyard wedding away from their nearest and dearest. So, now it was time to do it properly at her parents' home at the Hart House on the campus at Duke University.
With it being their second bite at the matrimonial cherry, more of a vow renewal, I wasn't sure how the vibe of the day would go. Would it mean as much this time around? I hoped so, but you can never know. Suffice to say, I was really blown away by the emotion on show. When I see how much a couple loves each other and how much it means for them to be together with their loved ones, it really makes me appreciate the honour I am given to be documenting their day for them.
For Sarah & Case's wedding, I took the opportunity to photograph across multiple formats aside from my usual Sony ?1 digital cameras; as you'll see in the film and images below, I shot quite a bit of Portra 400 and Super 8 film too. There's definitely a certain vibe to film that I love and I've worked hard to hone my digital image processing to emulate that look across my digital imagery too.
As you can see, we were blessed with gorgeous weather for Sarah & Case's wedding in the beautiful grounds around the house. It was a fabulous day to be a wedding photographer!
I hope you enjoy the film and images below....
Congrats again to Sarah and Case and a huge thank you to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make it such a great wedding to photograph:
