Portraiture

Last Sunday, I took a trip over to my old stamping grounds in Cincinnati to hang out with some old friends in Ault Park. It was a perfect evening with some gorgeous light from the setting sun catching the blossom.

All in all, great lighting, lovely scenery and cool subjects = a recipe for success.

I recently got the chance to go and spend a Sunday morning with these two cool little guys. We were originally slated for the Saturday, but the stormy weather put paid to that. The light was interesting as it was rather overcast but still kind of harsh at the same time. There was a cool, old white barn by Cassie and Andrew's house which I used as a big reflector with the backlit shots. It also provided some interesting texture with its peeling paint and rusty metallic outhouses. Anyway, here are the picks of the shoot. abbi hits 18 months
Back when I got organised and officially kicked off "Joe Payne Photography", I was really pleased to get an email from Ashley, whose daughter Abbi used to be in the same group at daycare as Charlotte. Abbi recently turned 18 months, so we spent an hour early on Sunday morning walking around Zionsville. It was probably the hottest day I have ever had to work in, but it was a gorgeous morning and Abbi did brilliantly despite the heat. I hope you like the pics! raleigh portrait photography – sonia’s sense of snow
Getting the opportunity to do a Raleigh portrait photography session in the snow is not something that comes along every day. As such, when I got the chance to head out into the wintry twilight with Sonia last week, I jumped at the chance. Everything came together very quickly, but the basic remit we set ourselves was to go outside, take some photos, try and experiment a little and push ourselves to do something a bit different whilst having some fun. I'm really pleased with how the images came out and have to say a special thanks to Ashley of Radiant Beauty by Ashley for her gorgeous make-up work and to April of The Oaks at Salem for h ...
