raleigh wedding portrait session – michelle & clay

Wedding Photography

A couple of weeks back, I headed down to Hope Mills, just outside Fayetteville, to spend a few hours around sunset in the company of Michelle and Clay. Rather than going with traditional wedding photography for their day, they wanted to just take some portraits ahead of time, which sounded like a fun idea to me. So with a couple of cameras, a fab location and a whole lot of juicy golden hour light, we sallied forth and went for a stroll with the sole purpose of having some fun and seeing what we came up with.

Here are just a few of my fave frames from their sesh. Cheers, guys!

OK, so this River Landing Country Club wedding is going to be the final wedding to hit the blog in 2017, and, as far as I'm concerned, it's a great way to wrap up the year. Yes, it's a bit of a corker! Let's see: Fab bride and groom? Check! Awesome wedding party? Check!! Beautiful locations? Check!!! T-Rex first dance? CHECK!!! The list goes on... Megan and Chad were really great to work with. Megan is a photographer herself, so I was very flattered when she reached out to me to ask me to shoot her wedding. Given that she lives in VA, we pretty much planned everything via phone and email and hadn't actually met till the wedding day itse ...

oaks at salem wedding photography – kim & jeff
When Kim originally contacted me in May last year, she hadn't even booked her venue yet, so it was clear photography was a pretty big priority for her. As soon as we spoke, I knew we were on the same wavelength and I was so pleased when she booked me pretty much straight away. Happily, she did select a beautiful venue pretty quickly thereafter! And so it was that a fortnight ago, I took the arduous 6-minute drive from my house to The Oaks at Salem to shoot Kim & Jeff's wedding a couple of weeks ago. We were forecast storms, and it did rain a little in the morning, but I always say to wait and see what happens on the day and we couldn't ...

Wedding Ceremony and Reception: Crabtree's Kittle House, Chappaqua, NY Hair and Make-Up: Static, White Plains, NY Assistant Photographer: AnyaFoto, New Milford, NJ Being asked to shoot a wedding for anybody is always an honour; being asked to shoot the wedding of another wedding photographer is a nerve-wracking honour! And so it was with a mixture of excitement and trepidation that I accepted my friend Peter Forman's request to photograph his wedding for him and his fiancée, Jess. We'd only really met briefly last year at Cliff Mautner's Lighting and Skillset Bootcamp in Philly, and so I was very surprised and flattered when Pete ...
