2017 finished in style with Jill & John’s fab wedding in Durham NC. Regular readers of the blog will probably remember Jill from her beautiful Rose Hill Plantation bridal session, which was one of my favorite portrait sessions of the year. She made such a stunning bride and was such good fun to be with, I was really looking forward to the wedding day!
As a regular Durham wedding photographer, it was great to close out the year at such iconic Durham venues as Immaculate Conception Church, Duke Gardens and the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University. Before that, though, and while Erin was photographing John and the guys, I met up with Jill and her bridesmaids at her downtown Durham apartment for the getting ready, which is a part of the day I always enjoy photographing. From there, we headed across the road to the old Durham Brazing & Welding Works which offered a fabulous backdrop for some photos of Jill and her bridesmaids. From there, we were off to the ceremony and, once Jill & John had tied the knot, we raced across to Duke Gardens to catch the last rays of sunset for portraits of the bride and groom before heading to the Nasher for the reception.
All in all, it was a gorgeous day documenting the marriage of two fabulous people and a perfect way to close out the year.
